You know I love doing the A to Z Challenge in April.  It nips into my brain at various times of year, helping me to think of a theme, to get ready for the month of April when I’ll be posting every day except Sundays, working my way through the alphabet.  About 2000 other people will be doing the same thing this April.  We’ll visit each other’s posts, leave comments and calling cards, find people whose stuff we like, and make new friends.

This doesn’t happen by accident.  There’s a huge team of hosts and co-hosts working on getting it ready.  The sign up list is open, and doesn’t close until the Challenge is just about to start.  The hosts have a large number of blogs signed up that they will visit, and encourage, and feature in posts through the month.  And each host has a team of about six minions to help them cover this huge list.  And that’s where I come in.

I signed up for Damyanti Biswas’s team.  Damyanti blogs at the Daily (w)rite and also Amlokiblogs.  I followed her during my first AtoZ, and made friends with her last year.  She even featured me and the books last summer.  So I’ve joined a beautifully international team to help Damyanti carry out her mission – to help participants get the most out of their Challenge experience.  You probably won’t see anything different from me on the blog – I’ll just be doing even more beavering away behind the scenes… and proudly displaying the Team Damyanti badge!

PS Watch out tomorrow for a special sign up list!

Will do! I take it you’re all signed up. Have you got a theme? We’re planning a theme reveal for 21st March.

I signed up for A to Z right behind you. And I saw the Theme Reveal hop on ML Swift’s blog and signed right up for that, too! I saw there that you were involved–good for you, getting more involved and visible!

I never realize there might be teams in the Blogging Challenge. I don’t have a lot of people on my blog yet, but this year’s challenge has already helped. I am already working hard on my blogs, since I bit off a tough one: Renaissance artists, a topic for which I have a real love.
What is your topic this year? I’ve been having fun following other people as they make their decision. Good luck, Jemima!

      Hi Noelle.

The teams are there for each co-host to make sure everyone on the challenge gets visited regularly. The sign up list has grown so much that the co-hosts need help to cover it all adequately. At present it also helps if more people are talking about the challenge and encouraging others to sign up.

If you’ve not got many followers, check out the “low followers” page on the a-to-zchallenge.com website.

As Rebecca said, there’s a theme reveal coming too – watch out for my haiku tomorrow and sign up for that too!

It can be hard when you’ve got fixed points in your blog week. I started working out what books I needed to read soon after Christmas, and even then I’m cheating a little. You’d need to discuss your WOW with your school people, perhaps giving them the letter you need for the posting day. Wordless Wednesday could be tricky too, although perfectly do-able using a picture of something beginning with the right letter. You can use guest posts as well, no holds barred!

You’ll work it out, I’m sure. If not this year, then next!

Those all could work, if the WOW people didn’t have their list set already. Also, I still want time to do our OFFLINE commitments, too. 🙂 My biggest goal is getting healthy AND adding more online time doesn’t help. That is why you’ll notice I comment in spurts more now, than regularly. I have an inbox full of posts I want to visit/twitter people I need to thank – and then work on them as I have time. The good news is that I AM getting healthier. The bad news is that S&K can’t say ‘Yes’ to everything. Maybe this summer we can plan for 2015. Ha! I think it is great that you are part of “Minion” group! They are lucky to have you.

Great post, Jemima, and thanks for the shoutout 🙂 It’s a pleasure to be a c-minion with you, and I’m so glad to have met you. Looking forward to more minioning fun! Post-April we’ll have to come up with something else to keep us busy 😉

This year I entered two blogs in the A-Z and hopefully my work schedule will stay the same and I will only be working 2-3 week days. Can’t wait to read the A-Z postings. I’ve been slowly making my way through the list and looks like its going to be a great A-Z year
