A few weeks ago I got in touch with the authors who’d ganged together last December to put together a Christmas-linked giveaway.  We styled ourselves the Book Elves, since we all wrote for middle grade audiences (although some of us have equally as many adult readers).  I’d been wondering what to do this December, and came up with an idea I presented to them.

Seven or eight of us committed to the idea, and we’ve been busy writing (among many other things) a short story or novella, something of the order of 5000 words, to go in an anthology of seasonal stories for readers in the 9+ (roughly) age group.  The aim is to publish it mid-late November, in time for Read Tuesday.  That will miss the US Thanksgiving holiday, but will pick up Christmas and Hanukkah and all the other festivals around midwinter.

I’m starting to think about marketing the book (and still deciding whether to do a paperback as well as an ebook).  If you would like to do a book blast for the anthology on your blog or webspace, please let me know in the comments.  We’ll be focussing most marketing effort between 22 November and 16 December.

I may not be able to commit to a book blast because I have Guest Author posts scheduled up to 6th December, but I CAN slot a promo for the book in for you Jemima.
Just send me the details, cover, links for it (If you can send me photos of all the contributing authors as well, plus any banners, I can make it a GREAT promo)
    Chris 😀

I will send you as much as possible as soon as possible, Chris, thank you!

I’m just tidying up a guest post for you, too – I hope it’s not too late, but please just edit it if it has to be stored for a while.

I just popped back and noticed that my reply got mangled. I swear I am going to stop posting from the ipad. It changes words willy-nilly and there’s a lag, so I don’t notice. Hooray for the Princelings!

I know what you mean. Tried to do my Facebook messages on my new smartphone while watching tv. Disaster.
Thought of editing boom to book, but thought it was quite nice, really!

If you send us the HTML, I can put it in a post but things are about to get really crazy here, so I can’t commit to more than that, although I want to. 😀
