Of course, the big challenge for this month is to finish the revised draft of The Perihelix and get it to my editor.  Camp ends on Friday, so how am I doing on that?

Well, I’ve finished.  I’ve won, in their parlance. And just for good measure I started writing the second in the Viridian System series and putting together a sampler of short stories as a promotional tool leading up to the release of the book. Next month I can concentrate on promotions for the new Princelings paperbacks and the my contribution to the next BookElves Anthology.  I seem to enjoy challenges.

My Reading Challenge progress report

For the Goodreads Challenge I have solved the problem of being behind schedule due to reading three books in one.  I simply posted reviews of the other two books in the collection, and when I finished them, and magically I caught up to my target!  34 of 60 books and I am on schedule.  However since I have read some ARCs,  I feel I am morally ahead.  And of course I’ve been reading my own books over and over again.  It takes time out of ‘leisure’ reading!  I’m probably ahead of target for the Mad Reviewer’s Challenge because that counts reviews on Goodreads, rather than individual books read.

I haven’t read any more books for the Local Heroes Challenge although The Cuckoo’s Calling was set on familiar territory, all over London.  I am supposed to be reading The Rings of Saturn, which counts, but it sits on my table and gets ignored for other books on my kindle.

There’s still time to join the Local Heroes Challenge for the year.  It’s a small but select group.  If you already have, tell us in the comments how you’re doing.

I am so impressed! I finally started one for the Local Heroes–one of my local history books, since no one seems to have considered our town interesting enough to use as a setting for fiction. Given the book is mostly pictures, you’d think I could finish it….

Yes, but I have neither been hiking nor met my son on his return from Mongolia this month. You should expand your definition of Local a bit: check out a book by Nancy Jill Thames, since I know you’ve been cycling in the area it’s set!

That does improve productivity. I need to lose the internet, and then I can be more productive. FB is bad news for me.
