This time, the prompt is ‘marriage of convenience’.  I give you:

The second date

She had challenged her blind date to dinner at her place. Whatever he could find in her fridge and cupboards. He was a chef, after all.

He accepted.

“Ah, mushrooms and eggs – a marriage made in heaven!”

A marriage of convenience, more like, she thought.  He just wasn’t for her.

    Hi Jemima – I think your fridge needs to be more discriminatory in future and refuse mushrooms! I guess then it might just be scrambled eggs … ah well – he’ll seduce someone else in due course with his cheffy skills -he was leaving time for other things !! Cheers Hilary
