It’s a nice garden fork, I like that style. This week’s Crimson’s Creative Challenge reminds me of how my vegetable patches used to look. Maybe I’ll get them back under control next year.
It’s only 117 words this week. Can I save some for later? 😀

CCC052 – The Garden Fork
“Oi! What you bin doin’?”
“Just tidying up your vegetable patch. I‘ve cleared the kohl rabi, what was left of it, all the nice roots had been eaten out by slugs and mice, I think. I’ve weeded the Swiss chard, that should take you through winter just fine, although you might want to pick a few of the larger leaves before they get tough.”
The farmer stood staring. “Anythin’ else?”
“Yes, I’ve sowed some winter lettuce. And I’d weed the kale, if I were you. Maybe stake it in case the winter winds…” He faltered as he saw the farmer’s face. “I’ll be off then.”
“Arr. An don’ come back!”
He left. Another body disposed of.

I wasn’t expecting that! Though after reading your stories for so many years, I guess I should have been 😀
Oh, that final line. Oh yes! Has me chuckling
