This week’s Crimson’s Creative Challenge takes us to Cromer, and this shop with pistachio and pecan goodies. I’ve been reading Slow Gods (review next month), and the two sort of merged together into something nutty.
It’s 159 words. With another 100 left on the cutting room floor. I could have got under 150 by cutting the pronoun explanation, but you probably need that.

CCC062 – Pistachio Peccadillos
Ad’Akh was on the promenade when I met him. Or rather tim: his pronouns started with t, not h.
Te had questions: sea, waves, sand, flying creatures… I named three species of gull, some waders on the shore. We walked, tried ice cream… vanilla was good, but when I ate the cone te was horrified. Te broke tis up and fed the gulls.
We stopped for tea. Te questioned everything. I ordered mint tea and a piece of each cake.
Pistachio received a sniff, and a wave of tis ring over it. “No can eat.”
“I hope you can eat pecans.”
“What is pecans?” The ring disapproved again.
“Perhaps you could pick them out and just eat the cake?”
The server watched us disapprovingly. Ad’Akh delicately picked tis pecan pieces out. Te finished the cake, I finished the pecans.
Te returned to tis pedalo and started out to sea. I imagined tis report: Earth… too nuts for us.

Excellent. Te sounds as much a fussy eater as me!
Love it! Though I also like nuts 🙂 I used to eat the nuts my daughter picked out of baked goods 🙂
A unique take! I love nuts – we would compete for them!
