The Talent Seekers tells of Humphrey’s search to find a home, a home that recognises his special abilities. It’s a darker world that the rest of the series, full of vampires, werewolves and avaricious neighbours – so there’s a lot of fighting that goes on. I’ve upped the rating to YA as a result. But it is a tale of friendship, and finding oneself, as well. It also pretty much stands alone in the series, so it’s a good entry point.
