I was very sad to hear that after many months of health struggles, Tina Downey passed away Saturday, August 23rd.

I hadn’t known Tina long, but she was a stalwart of the Blogging from A to Z Challenge.  When I took up the offer of a guest post once a month, Tina was there to guide and encourage me, and make me feel at home.  She was a devoted member of the blogging community, being a member of the Insecure Writer’s Support Group, and her own blog Life is Good was full of wackiness, support and wise words.

Somebody said she was fond of sunflowers, so this one, in my garden, is for you, Tina.  Thank you for being there.

The sunflower is beautiful, Jemima. Now it will always remind you–and US–of Tina. My condolences.

A lovely tribute, Jemima.. It is always sad when a voice that has become dear to us is stilled. My condolences to you and to her family. May Tina be surrounded with sun flowers.

How lucky of you to have a sunflower right in your garden. Your tribute to her with this flower helps to brighten a sad time, allowing all who care for her to see her spirit shining through each of us and know that her memory lives on.
