This is my first attempt at the Bookshelf Gargoyle’s Fiction in 50 (words) Writing Challenge.  Each month he posts a writing prompt for us, and in the last week he asks us to link up our offerings.

This month’s prompt was: A Dawning Realisation

And this is what I made of it.

I flounced out of the house yelling, “I’ll do it tonight!” to those left behind.

Voices called after me.

Go to hell, I thought, and squeezed through the closing doors onto the bus.

People stared. One sniggered. I sat, glaring out of the window.

The seat was cold.

Too cold….

Exactly 50 words – not bad for my first attempt.

Please visit The BookShelf Gargoyle to find other 50 word stories linked in.

While you savour that… I’m delighted to announce a new review of The Traveler in Black and White, by Carrie Slager, the Mad Reviewer.  Why not hop over to her blog and admire it?

You leave the imagination working overtime as to why the seat would be too cold Jemima. I can’t decide whether to go for the mundane or not. Well done !

I was thinking of a lack of clothing on one’s behind for some reason, but you can think what you like!

Hopefully I answered it all too, Chris!

Yeah, some intersection of the bus to hell has frozen over!

I see it wouldn’t be too late for me to jump on this bandwagon. I’m thinking of doing it–fewer reviews, more of my own writing…you make it look fun 🙂

It’s never too late… and I’m glad it looks fun – it is!
