It’s summer, in case you hadn’t noticed. I know many northern hemisphere folks tend to reduce their blogging, and since I’m at Camp this month, I’m going to join them. This will probably be my last Wednesday post till September unless I throw in another ⌗IWSG and two ⌗Fi50 posts. Challenge updates can wait. I may even miss some Mondays. July’s book reviews are already scheduled 😉 Friday flash fiction … back in August, but you may get a snippet of Pete & the Swede’s further adventures.
As you saw on my Monday post, I’m off at Camp NaNoWriMo, working on my new scifi novel. There are lots of things to feel insecure about branching out into a new genre, not least networking with other scifi aficionados. I’d like to find a Giveaway Hop group like Inspired Kathy or Stuck In Books that would bring more scifi readers to me and who’d appreciate more of the books I like, so if you know of one, please let me know. (I did Google, but without much success).
In fact, my insecure writer problem is all about how to bring my books into other people’s worlds. I read all the tips, and carry out most of them, but… well, I’m just hoping that those who do see my promotions think they’ll enjoy Pete and the Swede more than they did my other books! Not that Princelings hasn’t been successful. In Amazon rankings, they are better than millions of other people’s books. Many millions. That’s quite a depressing thought, actually.
Now, back to camp. I hope the weather is good 🙂
Have fun at camp! You can write outside in nature. As for venturing into the scifi genre, your shorts have shown that you are very accomplished in this – I loved reading them.
Thanks, Noelle. There’ll be another short during the month, including this Friday… as I’m editing the book I may well be inspired to write something as a relaxation!
I’m at camp this month too! Goodness help me. I mean.. It’s going to be awesome and easy! Right? Right. Eesh.
Happy IWSG Day, Jemima! 🙂
