November’s Fiction in Fifty Words (Fi50) feature takes the theme of ‘an offer you can’t refuse’.
I was passing the time on the US Election night, catching up with the blog, avoiding even more bad news from this side of the Pond, trying not to think about the disasters about to happen in my world. And I had an idea.
An Offer You Can’t Refuse
Charon sat, dangling his feet in the water, imagining better uses for the two pennies, the payment for crossing the river. Live it up. Run for President. Show the devil a thing or two.
When a guy with a strange and improbably yellow hairstyle offered him four pennies, Charon accepted.

Join in with #Fi50 any time of year, just get the theme from The Bookshelf Gargoyle, and post your offering, or link, on his monthly update, from around the 25th of the month.
It’s all too real! Thanks for playing again 😀
The thanks are entirely mine, Bruce <3
Seriously, your story caught me off guard: Charon and our President-elect. LOL! How could anyone possibly beat it? (Thanks for the link, too. I might give the contest a try.)
Do join in, Suzanne – it’s fun, and we could fit a few more people in!
Ha! I love it.
Thanks, Patricia 🙂
I’d laugh, if I wasn’t so busy crying :p
Things here appear to be heading for revolution. And I thought my Princelings plot was far-fetched a few years ago.
