I’m talking reading challenges, of course.  There will be many other challenges ahead, including various editing projects, and writing flash fiction to the standard to which you have become accustomed.  I’ll do my best!

My first choice of formal reading challenge is from Bruce Gargoyle, who once again sets us something to have you racking your brains…

wild-goose-chase-challenge-buttonWild Goose Chase Challenge

Here you have to read books that fit into one of seven categories on the themes of wild, goose and chase.  You can only count the book for one category.  Easy peasy – it’s only seven books to read, after all!

To sign up, go to The Bookshelf Gargoyle site here.

mount-tbr-2017Mount TBR Challenge

As with last year, your challenge is to read a decent number of books from your mountainous TBR list.  Since I made it through to 30 last year, having signed up for 24, I’m tempted to go for the next level – 36.  It doesn’t seem to reduce my TBR any, though.

Sign up for this on at My Readers Block, here.

Again, from last year, I’ll be doing the A-Z title challenge, only this year more strictly on the first word in the title (other than A or The).

what-an-animal-reading-challengeWhat an Animal 2017

I breezed through my original 2016 target, and then the next one too, but the conditions have been narrowed for 2017 to allow only books where an animal plays a major part.  I reckon I might have reached twelve under those conditions last year, but then again, maybe not, so with the addition of my two new challenges, I’m sticking to six titles for this one in 2017.

non-fiction-adventureA Non-Fiction Adventure

And now for a ten-year challenge, to read fifty, yes, that’s 50, non-fiction books.  Michelle at Gather Together and Read is hosting this one, having taken it up from someone else.  I’ve been looking for a non-fiction challenge for a couple of years, and managed to list thirty from my TBR and added from my bookshelves which I’d missed in the past.  I reckon I’ll acquire twenty more over the next six years!

Set your own target (50+) and timescale (5 – 10 years) here.

Oh, wow, a challenge for challenge addicts to do lots of reading challenges!

I’m signing up for the five above!

Once you’ve checked out the list here for a few more to do, you can sign up to the Challenge Challenge on the tab on the menu above the post (not here, at Reading Addict Challenge website)

To keep up with my progress on these, and see more of the details of each – go to my Challenge pages in the Menu top left.

Wow. I’ll have to think about some of those challenges. I do kind of like to just let my reading unfold, though.

Well, all I usually do is read the books on my TBR, but sometimes I choose the next because it fits a challenge, too!

I don’t think I’m going to do any more than usual, really; just slip into into different categories for extra fun!

Yes, I do the GR challenge, but these help me pick which to read next!
