Insecure Writers Support Group badgeWrite under pressure? Yes, it’s IWSG day again, and I’m wilting under the pressures of life. How anyone with a job and young family does it I have no idea!

I’m writing this in advance as momentous things might happen this week, and the last thing I’ll remember will be to write a post.

Disclosure

in fact, I’m sitting on a garden chair in the living room of my new house. Yesterday there were builders. Tomorrow there will be builders. Today all is quiet save for the wind whistling and the rain battering the window, as the next storm hurtles up the English Channel.

Today I have painted out all the green decorations on the wallpaper that I decided I couldn’t stand. As I left the guinea pigs in someone else’s care while this work was going on, I can’t even chat to them. Instead I moved their empty cages and got going on the painting, the bit behind their cages. This is where the bookshelves will go when they come down, which might be IWSG week. And yes, I am painting the rest of the room to match, it’s just not so urgent.

I’m also catching up with book reviews, and I must remember to check what rubbish bin has to be put out tonight.

I could write under this pressure. But my brain just isn’t there.

Audiobook news

The Princelings of the East is finally out as an audiobook on Audible, Amazon  and iTunes. I have some codes if you’d like to have a review copy. That would include the quality of the narration, so any new reviews are welcome.

Watch out for next month’s news!

Thanks

Thank you to all the IWSG Team, especially Alex J Cavanaugh. I’ll thank the co-hosts when I know who they are!

Painting is always a “chore” that I find soothes me. The feeling of having finished something is wonderful and I can see the affect of my labor every day!

It’s hard to concentrate on writing when you have a lot going on.

I hate painting. I can’t seem to do it without making a giant mess. Hope you are better at it than I am! Oddly, I’ve been doing a little writing, as we had a couple of “weather” days without much or any hiking, and I got tired of reading!

Congrats on the audio book and new house. You might be feeling pressure but think of it this way, chances are that once you’re done painting and setting up your house, a new story idea or two might be waiting for you. Take this time to replenish your creative well and come back strong when things calm down.
