Once again, I’m taking a look at my year in books as I did in 2019 and before.

But no, this is not my book of the year.  I’ll do that after the year has ended, since I expect to be scaling that Mount TBR summit on New Year’s Eve!

No this is a job for December, thanks to the Bookshelf Gargoyle , who isn’t blogging any more, but gave me some easy blog content for when my brain is fried.  He always prompted me to do my version of this clever thing – which is to complete the sentences with titles of books I’ve read in the year.

You can copy the prompts and add your own! (This year, all links to the Goodreads pages)

My 2020 Year in Books

So far, I would describe this year as being: The Year Without Summer (or any other season, really)

I’m tipping that the next big thing in Reality TV shows will be: Swashbuckling Cats: Nine Lives on the Seven Seas

I could have cried when: Seeing Red

I would love to have some respite from: Monstrous Devices

The most unexpected thing that happened this year involved: The Graveyard of the Hesperides

My non-bookish friends would say I: Fractured Stars

My motto for 2021 will be: Unbroken

I am most looking forward to: A Life on Our Planet

A recurring dream I’ve had this year features: You Beneath Your Skin

If you looked under my couch you would see: What Stars Are Made of

If I could no longer blog, I would probably pursue a career in: Reclamation

Something most people don’t know about me is: To Be Taught, If Fortunate

A clever way to do your best books, Jemima. I read The Year without Summer – it was a very depressing book – as I suppose was that year for so many people.

Not so much my best books, just titles that fit the clues. I’ll do the ‘Best of’ one Saturday in early January. Several of these are on the long list, but several won’t make it to that. Although I did enjoy Year without Summer; a period that fascinated me, having done the science bit years ago and wondered…
