It’s Summer/Winter Sale time again!

Smashwords does its site-wide promotion through July, summer in the northern hemisphere, winter in the south. And whether you’re thinking of hiding from the barbecue, lying on a sunbed, or curling up by a nice warm fire, there will be plenty of books on offer.

There is a debate as to whether people who stock up on free books at these times ever get around to reading them. Since I have loads of free books on my kindle I got in past promotions, some of them nearly ten years ago, I tend to go with that view point. Whether people only read more expensive (99p? expensive?) books that they then ascribe more value to is even more debatable.

All* my ebooks are half-price in July at Smashwords

That’s easy to say: that’s the plan. If half-price brings them below 99c they become free. This is the link to them all.

Sale Price tags:

$1.49 is the price for each of the Unexpected Twisty Tales, plus Princelings of the East (#1) and Messenger Misadventures

$1.99 gets you each of the other Princelings series books

$2.49 is the price tag for each of the Viridian series books

£3.49 is for White Water Landings, my father’s memoirs

$3.99 is for the Princelings Box set #1, books 1 to 3

$4.49 is for the Princelings Box set #2, books 4 to 6

*Everything else is FREE.

The summer/winter promotion started midnight California time (so I’m posting this 8 am London, and it should be live everywhere). It ends 11.59 pm (Pacific) 31st July.

And of course there are lots of lovely books by other authors – check whether your favourites are on Smashwords now.

    Gotta love a good sale.
I wrote a humorous piece for the June WEP prompt.
And I’m contemplating my favorite book worlds for the IWSG July prompt (I’m co-hosting).
Over at Operation Awesome, our Pass or Pages query contest opens Monday with July’s family saga genre. Know any writers who might want to enter?
