Reflections are sometimes rippled and indistinct. That’s rather how I feel now about this years A2Z, although I enjoyed it while it was happening.

Reflections…

Reflections

Old friends, New friends

I visited lots of old friends who were doing it, and did some regularly, although that’s easy when their posts come to my inbox. I hope I commented often enough for people to realise I’d been! I also visited most of the people who visited me, although some obviously had problems filling in their name and email and webpage on the comments form. For some reason I have to on my own blog… but not on other WordPress sites and places I’ve visited before, like Damyanti, Noelle, Ronel, Lynn, Esther, and more… I have tried to fix this aberrant behaviour of my blog, but the problem remains.

Old story, new story

I hope all the Blogger blogs where I patiently add my name and url appreciate the effort. I hate Blogger with a passion, but some sites insist on recognising me with my blogger url and won’t let me change my redirect to my active site. There seems to be no answer to these technical problems, but I forgot how draining they become during the course of the month. It’s a shame, as eventually it wears my hands out and I end up not visiting. People who signed up late this year (after about 100) missed out completely on a visit from me. I’m sorry, but there it is.

I wanted to make it a new story this year, visiting just about everyone. But I did enjoy talking about my illustrations, even if I talked more about the books than I planned. Thank you for your kind comments on my drawings.

The future

The future will probably not be an A2Z. I’ve said it before, that I won’t do it next year. I enjoy doing it, but I’m hopeless at visiting, and that’s just a key part of doing it.

I shared all the posts to #bluesky this year. Thank you to everyone who liked and shared them, I still haven’t got to grips with the social side of it, but there’s still time!

But Ronel has already done a badge for next year…so maybe, just maybe…!

I’m sorry about my Blogger blog! I like the price tag there (free). And I admit that I’m not keen on learning a new system at this stage! I’ve had to give up on A2Z, both because it demands too much both in the posting and the visits, and because I seem to generally be away from home for at least some part of April–it’s the time to visit the deserts.

Thanks for your visits Jemima and I will be visiting more now that the madness of April is past. I hope you do go again next year…

I did A2Z for several years but the effort turned out not to be worth it. I think yours was brilliant – could be book!

LOL. I’m sure you’ll have a theme ready for next April 🙂 Thanks for the shout-out. I had to fill in forms to comment on my own blog, too, so you’re not alone there.

I did read all your posts and liked what I saw – but that was only some of the images. Today I can’t see your first image either, just a box with the caption and a ❓in the centre.. I read on an iPad and keep meaning to try your site on my laptop. But so far I haven’t remembered 🙁.

I have discovered the secret is to reload from zero. It’s to do with image caching. If your computer thinks it’s seen it before, it saves time by not loading. If you close the window completely and start afresh, it usually works. And yes, this is a WordPress problem… which they think is marvellous.
