Spacetimereads is the short name for the Spacetime Reading Challenge. Sign up here to take part in the 2021 Challenge!
Spacetimereads
The Spacetimereads Challenge is to read fiction books set in space or time… How far you want to go is up to you.
There are four levels:
- 5 books: Planet hopper
- 10 books: Interstellar explorer
- 20 books: Galactic navigator
- 40 books: To Infinity and Beyond
Small print
All fiction books that qualify as space-based or time travel count, including anthologies with at least 30k words.
If you can’t finish a book, you may still count it if you feel you’ve read enough to give a fair review (I usually base this on 30% or 80 pages).
The challenge runs from 1st January to 31st December, and you can join at any time during the year.
You should leave reviews of your books and do an update post on your blog (or other sign-up space) at least quarterly. Please use the hashtag #spacetimereads in any blog posts or tweets.

I’ll be aiming for 20 books! My WordPress site is a bit new so I haven’t quite got the challenge-specific page up for it, but the link to my Masterlist is here: https://juulna725191629.wordpress.com/master-list-of-challenge-attempts/
I’ll also be keeping all my planned, in progress, and completed books I’ll be reading for this challenge on one of my GoodReads shelves: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list/16603937?shelf=2021-spacetimereads
Welcome, Juulna. I’m sure that by the end of the year your new site will be full of loads of interesting things! Good luck with your Spacetimereads! (did you put your name on the Linky List?)
Oddly enough it didn’t show up for me last time I was on this page (on my pc Chrome browser) but it seems just fine now! Weird.
And thank you! I’m very excited to read a whole bunch of things, new and old alike, for so many challenges. I love this sort of thing so much I even made a reading challenge for those who love reading fanfiction, haha. Not for everyone, but people are loving it. Going to have my hands full with so much to do!
All the best. 🙂
That may be my fault. Sometimes if I look at it with the wrong user account it drops the linky code :sigh:
All done with my original challenge – Karen’s Reading Challenges. I went low at Planet Hopper for my first time but I think I’ll continue to add to my list of completions to see what I read in this category this year! Thanks for an interesting challenge!
