The BookElves Anthologies

BookElves was a concept that arose out of an earlier work led by Sally Harris who got a number of authors of Middle Grade stories together to put a chapter of their work into a teaser volume. Readers had to solve clues in order to enter a giveaway for a Kindle Fire.

The authors felt an anthology might be fun to do, and I project managed it.

The easy bits were encouraging authors to take part, sourcing a great cover (from Danielle English), and producing the books.

The hard bits were chasing the authors to meet the deadlines, formatting all the work to meet the kindle and smashwords standards, and promoting the books afterwards.

But they were all great people to work with. We had a cover for a third volume, but I think most of us were either too busy with later books in our own series, or we’d moved out of MG books, or both.
