Cold days of January
Will give way to Spring.
An optimistic opener for this year’s haikus. They do tend to wish the year away, though I’ve always considered January as somewhat of an endurance event. Wrap up warm, do some writing, and plan some outings for those warmer days ahead!

I’m perverse – I like to get a nice slug of winter so that we appreciate spring more. Besides, I still have caterpillars on my kale, so we need a week of hard frosts to kill the pests off!
Yes, but after you’ve killed the pesky kale, what will the poor caterpillars live on? 😀
